BIG NAMES TO BATTLE IN SOLID 4FT WAVES TODAY!

Wednesday, August 6, 2008:
Some solid four to five foot (1.2 to 1.5 meter) waves are breaking for Day 2 of competition and all top seeds will paddle out in order to complete the 24-Heat round. With 25-minute battles, officials aim at completing 10 hours of contest today and the last 48 men in the Rip Curl Boardmasters will be known tonight. UK surfers Jayce Robinson, Oli Adams, Matt Capel and Alan Stokes will be battling it out for a spot in the next round.

Fanning Claims Quiksilver Pro France Crown

SEIGNOSSE, France (Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007) –Mick Fanning (AUS) the newly crowned 2007 Quiksilver Pro France Champion, is mathematically capable of clinching his maiden Foster’s ASP World Title in Mundaka, Spain next week. Fanning beat South Africa’s Greg Emslie, in three to five foot (one to one half meter) surf at Les Bourdaines this afternoon.

HOSSEGOR, France (Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007) - The Top 5 rated surfers on the Foster's ASP World Tour have advanced to Round 3 of the Quiksilver Pro France, but Taj Burrow (AUS), Andy Irons (HAW) and Joel Parkinson (AUS) had to negotiate Round 2 before earning their berths today. Heats 7-12 of Round 1 and Heats 1-6 of Round 2 were run in favorable six foot (two metre) conditions at La Graviere.

JEFFREYS BAY, South Africa (Saturday, July 21, 2007) – Australian Taj Burrow beat eight-time Foster’s ASP World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) to win the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay today. The victory is Burrow’s second on the 2007 Foster’s ASP World Tour and has moved him to World No. 2 on the ASP ratings."It feels amazing!” Burrow said. “I'm so stoked to have won two events. Morrison Eliminates Slater at Rip Curl Pro Chile

ARICA, Chile (Tuesday, June 26, 2007) – Australia’s Dean Morrison dazzled in his Round 4 heat against Kelly Slater (USA) to eliminate the 8X Foster’s ASP World Champion from the Rip Curl Pro Search Chile today. Slater was on the first plane out of Arica after earning his second equal 9th place finish of the season. Morrison walked away with the highest two-wave heat total of the event – 18.83 out of 20.00 – and a quarterfinal berth. Morrison and Slater went wave for wave, before Morrison made it out of an almost impossible looking barrel to post a perfect 10.00 – the second of the event.

Irons Narrowly Escapes Elimination At The Rip Curl Chile

ARICA, Chile (Thursday, June 20, 2007) - Only seven heats of the Rip Curl Pro Chile, stop No. 4 of 10 on the 2007 Foster's ASP World Tour, were run today, but near perfect rides were ridden in four of them. Former three-time ASP World Champion Andy Irons (HAW) earned a much-needed 9.70 out of 10.00 with just three minutes left in his heat against local Chilean wildcard Manuel Selman. The defending Rip Curl Pro Search champion was critically close to adding another 33rd (last) place result to his ratings scoreline when he twisted fate with a deep tuberide in the dying minutes of the heat.
