Bit of Biffo?

Just came across a press release on the BSA (British Surfing Association) website. It seems that there is some rancour between itself and the BPSA.

Horse Power

Yep, yep - it's flat alright, there ain't no waves anywhere... But my imagination was sparked the other day when my Mum sent me a paper clipping that she thought I might be interested in (does anyone elses Mum do that?) - "Horse-riding the waves". If you're bored and got a big horse, then you might want to try this!

Just kidding, was at Lunan Bay last week on the east coast of Scotland, it was one of those magic wild windy and brilliantly sunny days....and blown almost flat by howling a westerly.

Eco Tow-ins

Big wave surfing is crazy we all know that. One slip, or lump of unexpected chop can catch a rail, and you're toast!

Time To Tax Gas-Guzzlers Off Our Roads?

Had to post this - I'm on the Greenpeace mailing list and with the Carbon Calc on the site I think that it's a story that some people might be interested in. What I thought was funny and would be a good laugh is that you can email Greenpeace here 'getactive@uk.greenpeace.org' and they'll send you some cardboard road clamps and 4x4 tax disks that you can go and put on a Range Rover in your local Waitrose carpark. That'll keep you in trouble when there is no surf!!

This Government - All Talk and No Tide.

I came across this article the other day - and found it to be another frustrating example of our government being slow to support British technology that could improve our environment. Producing clean energy is human kinds next great puzzle - which needs to be solved quickly.
