The three day event held at Porthtowan is Europe’s greenest surf contest with environmental talks, beach litter picks and 100% organic cotton
contest tees supplied by title sponsors Aloha.
Entertainment throughout the event included an Aloha / SAS Fashion Show featuring The Chemical Sisters and other local beauties and live music
provided by Newton Faulkner and Hidden Appeal at the contest party held at the Blue Bar.
Although conditions were fairly average there were some outstanding performances from competitors, notably from Australian female surfer, Darra Penfold, who took the Ladies Title. Other standout surfers included South African Luke Patterson who won the Open title.
The much anticipated Tag Team event was the final category to be run with 5 teams battling it out for the £200.00 prize purse. Team Pure Blue just beat team Aloha to winning position.
