Lincolnshire

By Rolo at 10:27pm on 4th Nov, 2006

Living in the east midlands, this is my local break . Dont laugh ;-)! Sometimes it works really well when a deep low throws some swell down the north sea.

Anyway this was what it was like on two recent days, conditions were nothing too special, just about worth the trip.

I hope I managed to capture the spirit of the place- it's pretty unique!

Documentary feel

Captures the spirit well - like it.

Special...

It had me in stitches - the shot of the motorises wheel chairs and the knick knack shop, with the pier organ music brilliant. With the surfers walking across the flat sand towards the grey 2 ft waves - any bodies home break is special to them but got to say I don't think you have to worry about hoards of surfers travelling up from Cornwall!

Really cool in it's own unique way.

lincolnshire

cool vid off my local break pity its not the best conditions.did you get any footage of this sunday as it was nuts super big n clean and crowds seems everyones on it now from the usual line up of say 10. the crowds came from all over even one crazy french bloke from london. hope to see more

Sunday

I missed it due to moving house. I knew there was surf and was wondering what it was like as I was unpacking boxes& moving furniture around. Will be there next time, whenever that is. There's nothing on the forecasts at the moment.

An Oscar winner for sure

You guys have captured the essence of British surfing there. This aint West Coast Oz or The Mentawis, this is real life and god damn it we are going to enjoy the surf of blighty. That is one top funny mini surf movie, who could ask for more? a random brica brac shop, motorised wheelchairs and surfing!. Move over Big Wednesday, this was absolutely priceless. I am loving the super cheesy pier musical score. It was inspiring. You guys definitely have the love for our glorious dirty brown waters and good on ya!. You cracked me up and I thank you for that. If you don't win.....well then there is something wrong. Top notch! Brilliant, you made my day. Genius!

Nice,The black and white

Nice,

black and white footage would have given these clips real ambience. I love shots of the locality and the music, makes it feel like you want to come out and have a huge bag o' chips. You could imagine a group of over sixties going in for a splash around. Maybe get some shots of them in the next clip.
Love it

What the F*#+

This is exactly the point I'm trying to make! What has this got to do with surfing? Bag of chips? Old people? Sutton on f-ing sea? Theres so little colour already what differance would black and white mate.

Stop these people hijacking the comp VOTE FOR SOMETHING ELSE.

The best surfer is a happy surfer......

what's wrong with having a bit of fun? That's what the film was all about.....if you didn't like it, vote for something else. To be honest I don't think that anybody is really hijacking the competition, as only about 60 people have bothered to vote! hey ho, live the dream eh?

Agreed..

The best surfers are the one's having the most fun but this was a comp for the best video, and Rolo you can refute this be all means, but I think getting a round up of mates to vote for you on such a small forum is denying a potentially better video maker, with less mates, getting his just deserts. If you check, the end result was 39 to 37 doesn't that make more than 70? Then add votes for the others and it still comes to more than about 60. But it was a pretty poor turn out by Surfcore members I admit.

Dog Eat Dog

The rules of the competition set the scene for dog eat dog, and although quality is important, surely no-one put their videos on and just expected to sit back and watch it all happen for them now really did they?! I think part of the idea of the comp was to attract more people to the site, - shame on everyone else for not doing their bit! ;-) Probably only about 1/5 of members voted...

I did put a post on another well known forum asking for support for the competition (&not for any particular vid may I add) but the post was immediately removed in a very un-community spirited kind 'o way!

MUTLEY

Down Boy!

Listen to the Doctor

I'm with the good doctor, what;s wrong with having a bit of fun as long as you're not getting in someone elses face (Dr A - you may want to check out some of the other strings on the sight to find out not everyone agrees).

Takes all sorts to make a world after all......

Peace and love to all.

i don't know whether to

i don't know whether to laugh or cry. I have been going to mablethorpe since day 0 as a "tourist" but now, to me, it is a second home. surfing there has never been a consideration for me before, but now maybe i will try it.... cant wait to get back there next spring!

Amazing example what a lot

Amazing example what a lot of people have to surf in, pure comedy, i tend to go out in all conditions in cornwall, often on my own but this just proves that they are willing to go out in completely shit waves! AT least it looks clean (not the water the waves)!

Pure comedy all the way, love it!

Ps, What camera did you use?
