Stitches

By ChrisH at 7:40pm on 23rd Dec, 2006

So I ended up with a couple of stitches in my hand today after an accident at work, and I know I’m not supposed to get them wet, but there looks like some nice waves coming through tomorrow, and I could really do with getting out in it! Anyone had any experience of this, any sneaky way of avoiding getting it wet?
Cheers guys

Gaffer tape.

Just make sure you shave the bit where you're stickin' the tape other wise it'll hurt more than the accident when you take it off. Also make sure you're tetanus is upto date.

Awesome, il give it a go I reckon got some rubber gloves as well, might help! I could swear id posted this in the general forum rather than the video section though!

Wonderous gaffer tape

Moved it for ya to 'general' - tapes the go though. I sliced my arm open in Morroco falling on a plastic bag full of glass bottles. It required five stiches done in a hospital in Agadir, that was like something out of a warzone - doctor did a good job though under not ideal conditions.

But was heading into the middle of nowhere for the next few weeks and taped it every time I went surfing and it was fine - just clean and dry it each time you get out of the water.

Hope you get some waves - Croyde was nice last night got some peaches.
