A new blog for 2007

By Josh Berry at 5:17am on 13th Jan, 2007

After several great months with SurfCore I am moving my blog to my own site; please visit http://greensurfing.blogspot.com/ to read on! Thanks to Sam at SurfCore for the blog idea and the inspiration. Here's a teaser of my latest blog:

What are the surf industry's true colors?

"The surfing industry is merely the garment industry with a good hook." - Glenn Hening

There is a wave for surfing in Chile that is very hard to get to: in winter it is very wet, cold and muddy and access is often cut off for a week or more due to poor road conditions. It has a couple of local surfers who surf it when it's good, and its traditional agricultural economy is based on small-scale fishing, potatos, wheat and lentils; it has been this way for 250 years...

Josh - here's a thought - it doesn't take much effort to double post your articles here as well as on your new blog. If you use one of the offline blogger type widegts to compose your stuff, it just takes a few extra clicks to fire off to both sites. In reality, as I have found, you will find readers hopping back and forth between your blogsite and Surfcore, and your readership growing. Afterall, you've had a platform here to present your (worthy case) - and sites like these can only develop if they have people like you contributing. It's up to you but if you do vacate the stall here, at least stick a link to Surf Core on yr new blog!

PS your Save The Waves coalition link to your blog still links here.

PPs - great post on the corporate surfdom hassle in Chile - go on - email me with the details on who they were so I can make more educated purchasing decisions

I second Beach Bum it would be great if it's not too much trouble to post here as well...

I came across this pic today on the NASA Earth Observatory Site and thought that you might find it interesting. It was taken by satellite on the 13th of Jan - are you any where near the forest fires shown? The smoke seems to be blowing directly over Itata River which is where you were taking your water samples from?
