Best surf for an improver - July/Aug

By tekton23 at 7:44pm on 26th Apr, 2007

Hi,

I have been at what I would call the same level now for years, its the usual story - can stand-up, ride-in but when it come to doing much else - no hope! I have been on several trips but usually not had the budget to go where the surf is or its been that my holidays usually are in August so its flat.
Anyway, I have a month off this July and first week of August and want to treat myself. So basically I am after good quality consistent surf where I can build confidence and start to really improve. So where should I go? I am not super-rich but would consider anywhere, as long as its relatively cheap to live there. Don't mind the big flight but do mind expensive beers if you know what I mean. However to be honest I'd prefer somewhere in or close to Europe.

Any ideas?

Go

to Indo..... flight for £500ish and £15 a day'll see you sheltered, fed well and you'll still have a coupla rupes for a beer. Just don't get trapped in the hedonistic vortex of Kuta.

come over to Morocco

Morocco is a country where summer waves are really still unknown, as the majority of the surf camps are run by foreigners that barely know all the breaks of the area, and they need to go home for a while to relax from beeing abraod, so they vehiculed the rumor of morocco is a winter destination, but i can tell u that u can find here summer waves even better than anywhere in spain or portugal, u just have to know where it is.
The trip would cost u a lot less than travelling over there,as the flight would cost u like 100£ and if u stay in a surf camp, beeing alone you would pay 300 £ a week and less if u stay more time , and for the beer, in Morocco you have some great beer that is more expensive than europe, but you recover on many other things
i wish u to have the best summer surf where ever you go
