From the 1st July it's going to be ilegal for people to smoke inside pubs, bars, etc. This will inevitably result in more people going outside to smoke and dropping their cigarrette butts on the beaches.
Surfers Against Sewage have got loads of ideas and ways about how to prevent this from harming our environment even more. They even have some portable ashtrays for smokers so they don't have to drop them on the beach due to a lack of proper disposable bins, etc.
They also had a free dvd with wavelength a couple of issues back, which was great about raising awareness of what effect we are having upon our planet and how we can all do our bit.
