Transit in the Sahara

Transit in the Sahara

By Sam at 4:36pm on 1st Nov, 2007

Can't quite believe that we got the old girl all the way down to the Algerian border. This is a shot of Erg Chebbi in the South East corner of Morocco, the edge of the Sahara. The dunes were breath takingly beautiful, especially at sunset and sunrise when the colours are vivid pinks and oranges, and the wind blown ridges are accentuated by shadow.

Looks nice, what about the surf? Did yo surf down the dunes?

Magic experience

The dunes were a magic experience - but not much going on with the surf down here at the moment, there hasn't been a good solid swell yet. Still getting a surf in most days on the fish or minimal, hot sunny and windless, just sort-of fun summer session surfs.

Nah just didn't think about dune surfing, got an old body board in the van which would have been perfect - I'd say that you'd get up some good speed
