SWAP 'Surfing with a purpose' is a new organisation offering surf packages and volunteer programmes worldwide. For 2008 we offer surfing packages 10/17/24 days in the Mentawai islands as well as 1 month surf and volunteer programmes. We also have other opportunities in Peru, Ecuador and South Africa. Hi Rob,
For the Mentawais we do need individuals with an engineering background to assit with structural development programmes on the island which would be suitable for the rebuilding of the Mentawai Homes as well as other projects. Individuals with a teaching background would be suitable for assisting in the training of the local community in getting involved in the surfing industry. There areother teaching opportunities available in Ecuador, Peru and South Africa.
