I just wanted to say what a pointless event the BUSA Surf Champs was. Irritating to say the least that locals werent allowed in the water whilst the muppet students rode foamers in the lines of whitewater (waist deep)and struggled to get to their knees (in actual heats). I thought the idea of a comp/champs is that competitive surfing actually occurs. Apparently in the first day of competition many had to be rescued.

On the saturday i watched (from the safety of the beer garden)the biggest kooks i have ever seen getting washed about on foamers in Gay bay (Towan).

The event is a complete pain in the ass.
