Sennen Luck

Sennen Locals & Luck

Have YOU surfed Sennen?

What can I say, as a new comer to the England area and dieing for some surf. I decided to post up on a surf site my call, of needing a board, a place to stay, and possibly some cool locals to hang out with. In return, I would swap some photos and video footage. Little did I know how awesome the locals would be. I got a fast reply from a local surfer named Steve Lynton (also known as "Aussie Steve") with all smiles and a invite to come to the Sennen area and surf. Knowing how crazy this whole situation may be, I brushed it off and literally jumped onto the bus the next day. With positive thoughts, along with a slight fear for who this guy might be, and what kind of spot this was, I rode a nine hour bus towards Cornwall.

Surfers threatened by with ASBO's - could it happen?

Surfers who ride waves through areas reserved for swimmers off a Cornish beach could be taken to court and issued with antisocial behaviour orders, it emerged yesterday. Lifeguards at Sennen beach, near Land's End, are so fed up with rogue surfers who refuse to follow the rules that they have turned to the police for help.

Retailers Move to Stem Tide of Cotton Bud Sticks

Clean water campaigners the Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) and the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) are delighted with the news that six major retailers have agreed to implement new labelling on cotton bud packaging following persuasive action by both groups. The new measures will encourage customers to ‘Think Before They Flush’, and help prevent these items from washing up on the nation’s beaches. There are now 10 major retailers currently using or about to phase-in the clearer labelling across the UK.
